About us
My name is Dr Davide D'Aleo, I founded Scientiarum Vis to provide thoughtful, high-quality support to students, professionals and creators who want to deepen their understanding, improve their skills, or develop confidence in unfamiliar areas. The name roughly translates to "the power of knowledge", and so I wish to help people develop and enhance their academic, professional and creative skills. These are not mutually exclusive but rather complimentary and helping attain synergy.
My work spans three areas:
-
Academic Services — tutoring in law, business and research methods, proofreading for essays and dissertations, and coaching for the Jessup and Vis international moots.
-
Career & Development Services — interview preparation, CV and cover letter review, and general skills development. These draw heavily on my experience in audit at PwC, my own interview processes for competitive roles, and my work within academia and international arbitration.
-
Creative Services — 3D modelling, game-development support (using Unreal Engine), and music composition. Although creative work sits outside my formal academic path, it reflects my long-standing commitment to continuous learning, problem-solving and developing new skills in ambitious areas.
Across all these services, my goal is the same: to help people become more confident, more curious, independent and capable in the challenges they face — whether academic, professional or creative.

Law, business & creative development through clarity and curiosity
Biography
My academic background includes an undergraduate degree in Law (LLB with Honours) from the University of Aberdeen, a Master of Science in International Business (MSc) from the University of Leeds, and a Doctorate in International Business from the University of Liverpool. I am also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb).
Over the years, I have taught and supported students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and I have coached and judged teams in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot and the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. These experiences have shaped my approach to learning: understanding comes not from memorising information, but from asking the right questions and developing the confidence to explore the unfamiliar.
Alongside tutoring and academic work, I currently serve as a Business Development Manager at an international arbitration centre. Prior to my PhD, I worked in audit at PwC — experience that informs my career-focused services, including interview preparation, CV support and skills development.
Beyond academia and professional work, I also pursue creative interests such as 3D modelling, Unreal Engine development and music composition. These began as personal projects but have evolved into services I offer to early-stage creators and indie developers. My creative work reinforces a belief central to everything I do: learning is a lifelong process, and developing new abilities — even in completely different fields — strengthens how we think, solve problems and approach challenges. Professional, academic and creative skills-set are not mutually exclusive but rather complimentary and achieve synergy.
I founded Scientiarum Vis with the aim of sharing that philosophy and helping others build the tools they need to grow, achieve and navigate complexity and the unknown with confidence.
